The Simple Things: Painting with Juliet
A lot of times when you are a photographer you get caught up on striving for perfection. You always want the perfect light, the perfect expression, the perfect picture. Because of this need for perfection, we as photographers sometimes forget to take shots of the every day. To help me remember these important shots of real life, a group of photographers that I am involved with have decided to start a little blog series called “The Simple Things.” Each month I will shoot one of those simple moments in my life that I have been neglecting. And at the end of the month, I’ll share my story!
The Simple Things: Painting with Juliet
Bensen takes a nap everyday, and sometimes during his nap Juliet has to entertain herself so I can get some work done. I think it’s a long hour for her, and she gets very lonely without her little brother. So a few times a week instead of worrying about the house or stressing over some project I’m behind on, I sit down for some one on one time with my baby girl.

Thanks for stopping in! And check out Shannon’s take on the simple things. and leave her a comment letting her know you stopped by!

I always love your blog posts!! These are soooooooooo sweet and beautifully done, Kristina.
Gorgeous photos, looks like she is really enjoying herself so much. Love how you changed up the angles!
Oh, what a lovely way to spend an afternoon! These are memories she (and you) won’t ever forget!
Oh, what an awesome reminder to put down the work and enjoy your little ones! Looks like she had so much fun! My daughter always wakes up before her brother and I’m often asking her for just ‘one more minute’ until I can get something done. Today? Maybe we’ll paint.
Kristina, These are great! I really LOVE the one where she is sticking out her tongue in concentration!
Love these Kristina! You have a real knack from Lifestyle photography. You’re going to rock these posts!!
Beautiful Kristina! It’s so important to photograph these little moments, you will both look back on them so fondly. The tongue sticking out – ha! Love it!!
These are so fun! I need to do more fun things like this with my kids, and just forget about the mess we make. Memories like these are the gifts we give our children — and ourselves!
Looks like she was having a good time and enjoying her one on one time with mommy
I have a little one who naps and a bigger one who also has to spent that time entertaining herself too often. She would LOVE to sit down and paint with me. I think during tomorrow’s nap time we will have to do some art together
love it, kris kris! great pictures.
This is adorable, captures the innocence and joy of a happy, creative afternoon together so beautifully.
Fun! Great storytelling imagery.
